Tony Hayward will step down as the CEO of BP on October 1.
Congratulations, you got what you wanted. You now have your life back.
And congratulations on your severance package. A payoff of $1.6 million plus being able to draw an annual pension of $928,000 from a pot valued at $17 million.
Mr. Hayward, thank you for showing that I am clearly in the wrong line of work. What I need to do is establish a company, screw something up (the planet, my employees pension, drive the national economy into a ditch), and get fired so I can end up with a pension that would have me set for life.
I wish Mr. Hayward the best of luck in whatever he does next. Maybe he won’t face criminal charges for what led up to the events taking place in the Gulf of Mexico.
Oh… and one more thing…
