END THIS EXPERIMENT
On
Sunday the NFL played the first of three regular season games at London's
Wembley Stadium. The first game featured the Miami Dolphins defeating the
Oakland Raiders 38-14. Next month the Detroit Lions and Atlanta Falcons head
overseas for a kickoff that will be in the afternoon in London but a very early
morning kickoff in the states. The last game happens the Sunday after Election
Day when the Jacksonville Jaguars who have agreed to surrender a home game for
the next two seasons to play in London against the Dallas Cowboys.
This
experiment of playing a regular season NFL game overseas has to stop.

WHAT'S THE MATTER WITH KANSAS?
Kansas
has unexpectedly become the center of American politics in 2014.
Most
of this election is focusing on the Senate battlegrounds of Colorado, North
Carolina, and New Hampshire because two years ago those states were
presidential battleground. Kansas was not one of those states.

MISSED OPPORTUNITY
In
my previous post about Kentucky
I presented this scenario of a Republican controlled Senate without Senator
McConnell.
Here
is another scenario: Republicans end up with a 51-49 advantage.
One
seat would have made all the difference between a 50-50 Democratic Senate and a
combative Republican Senate adding to the dysfunction in Washington.

SENATE BATTLE IN THE BLUEGRASS STATE
Wrap
your head around this.
The
Republican Party could win a majority in the Senate and Senator McConnell (KY,
R) might not be majority leader.

2014 NFL SEASON: TOP 10 THINGS THAT WILL HAPPEN BEFORE THE COWBOYS WIN ANOTHER SUPER BOWL
DeMarcus
Ware followed my lead and moved to Denver. When healthy Sean Lee is
unstoppable, but when he tore his ACL in minicamp I knew that this season was
done. The defense is either walking wounded or on suspension. It is so bad that
the NFL.com preview says it could go from "worse to collegiate."
The
last time Dallas won a Super Bowl: I was in the 6th grade at a middle school in
the Fort Worth suburbs.
In
the years in between their playoff wins from 1996 to 2009 I graduated from high
school, enlisted in the Navy as a nuclear mechanical operator and six years
later received my honorable discharge from active duty, and when the Cowboys
won their first playoff game in 13 years, I had completed three semesters of
college.
I
had a discussion with a Packers fan about the upcoming season. I came up with
10 things that will happen before the Cowboys win another Super Bowl:
2014 NFL SEASON: DALLAS COWBOYS SEASON PREVIEW
I
have been a fan of this thing since I was a kid.
The
last time Dallas was in the Super Bowl: January 1996.
I
was in the 6th grade.
I
can't spin this into a positive.
I
can pretty much sum up what 2014 has in store for the Dallas Cowboys.
THE DAILY SHOW RACE/OFF
I
forgot to post this last week, but this is important. This was on The Daily
Show last week after returning from their two week summer break.
WHAT NEXT
The
protests concerning the shooting of Michael Brown have appeared to died down
but the anger is still there.
I
saw a post on Facebook calling for the revitalization of the Occupy movement
that appeared three years ago in New York City and sprung up in various cities.
The
person forgot to mention the most important place to occupy.
REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER: BLITZKRIEG COP
Prior
to following Congress' lead and taking the month of August off, comedian Bill
Maher on his program offered this observation on police departments purchasing
military equipment.
I also have additional thoughts on this very subject and how it resonates with the current events in Ferguson, MO.
