Former
The Daily Show correspondent and
temporary host John Oliver has a show that airs on Sunday nights at 10 PM (ET) on
HBO called Last Week Tonight. Portions
of the program are regularly updated to its YouTube
channel.
Last
night is why the show needs to be expanded to one hour.
John
Oliver discussed on the progress that the United States has made in LGBT rights
but at the same time has had elements of the religious right influence harmful
policies on LGBT persons in other countries such as Uganda.
The
portion of the program concluded with an interview with LGBTI activist Pepe
Julian Onziema. Mr. Onziema still lives in Uganda and is trying to change
hearts and minds over this discriminatory policy.
The
second part of the interview aired online after the program ended and is
provided below.
