SUPER TUESDAY 2012
February was a strange month in
the Republican nomination process.
The month started with Romney
winning Florida and it looked like he was going to cruise his way to the
nomination.
We saw Newt Gingrich fade away to
where he is counting on Georgia being his last hope for another surge.
We witnessed the Santorum Surge…
giggle… with his wins in Colorado and Minnesota. Bonus was his victory in the
Missouri Primary that didn’t count for anything.
Maine’s Caucus produced a result
that raised some eyebrows about the integrity of these results.
Michigan was a win in the popular
vote for Romney, but in the delegate count it was recorded as a tie… then the
Michigan GOP reviewed the results and gave Romney a 2-delegate win.
So… here we are. 10 states, 437
delegates are at stake

"SUMMERTIME"
We attempt to bring some class to
Michael’s Rant, so we present this duet between Audra McDonald and Stephen
Colbert performing “Summertime” from the play “Porgy and Bess.”

WE HAVE A DATE
Mark your calendars for 29 May 2012 as the date of the Texas Primary Elections.
It is the day after
Memorial Day, so it would be advised to take advantage of early voting.
Also, remember after the
polls close on 29 May 2012 unlike
in previous Primary cycles, there will be no Precinct Convention this year.
If you desire of being a
delegate for the State Convention in Houston in June and then the National
Convention in Charlotte in early September, you need to attend your county
convention on 21 April 2012.
For a third time.... the
Texas Primary Date is 29 May 2012.
More details about the
election schedule are provided here by the good people at the Burnt Orange
Report.
