A REVIEW OF PRIMARY SEASON (PART 2)

NEVADA: THERE IS RIGHT AND THEN THERE IS RIGHT OFF THE HOOVER DAM
The Republicans have targeted (figuratively) Senator Harry Reid’s (D-NV) seat as the most vulnerable going into the 2010 mid-terms. It would be a big pickup, not in terms of numbers, but also because Senator Reid is the Senate Majority Leader.

How can I explain the Nevada Republican candidates best?
Well, there is no way to explain it except to show these clips.
You heard that correctly. Sue Lowden wants us to return to the barter system for our health care.
Hmmm… what will my helmet get me, doc? C’mon, it has SENTIMENTAL value.
How about my Calculus Textbook? Oh, no kids becoming math majors…
Uh-oh… I’m the first born son. That’s my mom’s ticket to ANY serious medical procedure.
I’m screwed if we go to a barter system.
But, Sue Lowden did not win the Republican nomination for US Senate in Nevada.
There is someone worse than her.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Republican candidate for US Senate from Nevada…
Did you not catch that part at the beginning of the ClusterFox and Friends segment? She just used Fox “News” to raise money for her campaign.
Now here is when she is interviewed by an ACTUAL news organization.
It is kind of sad when KLAS-TV (CBS-8), a local news station, has more credibility than Fox “News”.
(Oh and if I can type in Faux News Channel, Fox Noise Channel, or Cluster Fox into Wikipedia, and it directs me to an ENTIRE page of Fox News Channel Controversies… that says something. Go ahead, try it.)
Here are her positions.
On the issue of abortion in the case of rape and/or incest: “It’s God’s plan. Go make lemonade out of bad situation.”
Oh… it gets better
US out of the UN because it is a bastion of liberal ideology.
Abolish the EPA
Called the $20 Billion compensation fund for those impacted by the oil spill a “slush fund.”
Another BP apologist.
Sigh.
Once again…
And to top it off, she voted against water fluoridation of drinking water.
I am not making this stuff up.
Just watch her defend her positions when interviewed by, again, an ACTUAL journalist and not just someone in the right wing echo chamber.
This is your candidate to unseat the Senate Majority Leader? A candidate who crumbles when she faces reality?
The icing on the cake is this quote she made to a talk radio station earlier this year about “Second Amendment Remedies”:
"You know, our Founding Fathers, they put that Second Amendment in there for a good reason, and that was for the people to protect themselves against a tyrannical government. And in fact Thomas Jefferson said, ‘it's good for a country to have a revolution every 20 years.’ I hope that's not where we're going, but, you know, if this Congress keeps going the way it is, people are really looking toward those Second Amendment remedies and saying, my goodness, what can we do to turn this country around? I'll tell you, the first thing we need to do is take Harry Reid out."- Sharron Angle
Perhaps she was misunderstood…?
Even though that may be the case, a combination of “Second Amendment Remedies” and “take Harry Reid out” plus Sarah Palin’s PAC Target List sounds like she is advocating the assassination of an elected official.
Shouldn’t Sharron Angle have gotten a call from Homeland Security?

In fact just recently she called a press conference… only to not speak to the press.
Even though polling has the race too close to call, Senator Reid has seen a bump in his numbers. Why? Because of, well: Sharron Angle.
Do I need to replay the clips again?
If I was in the Reid camp, I’d dish out this advice: shut up and let Sharron Angle do the talking.
